Steampunk Worlds Fair

We are happy to say that we will be vending out line "Mechanique" at the upcoming Steampunk Worlds Fair !!! We are extremely excited about this it's a weekend long FESTIVAL not a convention.

Lucky for us it's close to home. Though we live in the Philadelphia area Steampunk Worlds Fair is only about a hour away pretty much straight shot in Piscataway, NJ. The even goes over the course of 3 days May 18th-20th. If you're into Renn Faire, Steampunk, Gothic, Wicked Faire, Draculas Ball, and the like it's really work you're while. Even if you just want to experiment, the people I have dealt with are seriously the nicest group of people that I have ever met.

I highly recommend it. Ton's of musical performances and entertainment. Lot's of vendors my self included, and just a all around awesome weekend. Please check out www.steampunkworldsfair.com to get your tickets NOW!

Been too busy to blog

Looks like I lost my followers because I have been too busy to blog... AWESOME lol.

I had one hell of a family emergency to attend to, which of course means the rest of my life got put on hold. I had to leave PA and go to AZ because my grandmom had a aneurysm which is about as fun as it sounds. Don't worry everything seems to be going ok now a month later.

Since I have been home I have been SUPER busy creating as I am always trying to add more to my etsy store :) At the moment I am focusing on rings, and things geared towards men such as tie tacks, cuff links, watch chains, steampunk medals ect.

Hopefully my store picks up soon I have been working incredibly hard on everything. Below are some pictures of my newest stuff!

Busy Busy

The pieces that  made for the wedding were a huge success thank goodness!!!

Now I have gone back on to creating pieces to up my inventory for my etsy store and of course for vending out. I am happy to say I just added Tie-tacks to the list of things I carry. This is exciting because I am trying to cater to men and women. Men need awesome accessories too! Today alone I made 5 tie-tacks, 8 rings, and 4 pairs of earrings. Decided to take a little break and blog since I have neglected this a bit.

In other exciting news Steampunk Ink Tattoo and Piercing studio in State College, PA is now carrying my jewelry. I also sold my first out of country piece of jewelry. HELL YEAH!
I am really hoping to grow and to become more established :) One can only hope.

I will be vending at "Steampunk IV" in Brooklyn NY at the Dumbo loft Oct. 23rd and I will also be vending at "Reflections" which is held at the Starlight Ballroom in Philadelphia, PA.

Pictures and etsy listings for my new pieces coming soon....

Brides Maid Jewelry

In my last post I mentioned being in the process of making the brides-maid jewelry for my friends wedding this Sept. I have completed most of it so I thought I would share the pictures. This is different then the other stuff that I make. This is all Swarovski Crystal beads, and my first try at bead work:) I think I will incorporate more beaded crystal choker work into my collection in the near future!!!

I make Alt wedding things

I recently started taking custom orders for my customers. I am in the middle of making my first what I consider a large order for my friends wedding that is on 9-10-11 (awesome date right?) The order is for 5 brides-maid necklaces, 5 pairs of earrings, and 6 pairs of cuff links for the groom and grooms-men.

Tonight I finished making the cuff links. Now they just need to set for atleast 72 hours to make sure they set correctly. I hope that this will bring me more business. Steampunk themed weddings seem to be on the rise, and so far I have enjoyed this project. I am looking forward to delivering everything once its finished.

My friend Steph has been behind me from the beginning, and has pushed me to keep making things. So, as you can imagine it's a huge honor to me that she had me design and make the accessories for the brides-maids and grooms-men. Honestly they're not even really steampunk. However, they really appreciate the uniqueness of the style.... I actually think they have slowly been getting into it as they have seen my business grow and have come to several events to support me.

Here's some examples of my cuff links. I sell them at what I consider to be a fair price on my etsy store page. I do use AUTHENTIC NOS watch movements, gears, and typewriter keys. Sometimes I make things with wings or skulls to mix things up:)

Working on my etsy store

I have been really busy updating my etsy store lately. I still only have about half of my inventory listed. I am hoping to generate more sales soon! A lot of people seem to be rather successful on there and I hope that ends up being me.

Just a reminder to all I do make custom pieces and I always try to be fair priced. Hell, I even have been known to let someone haggle with me time and again. I a reasonable person... At least I try to be. So here I am shamelessly self promoting please go check out my store www.mizzmechanique.etsy.com

First post

I have never had a blog before so I figured that it was about time. I don't have much to say at the moment. I am planning to use this to advertise my Steampunk creations, and to post sales for my etsy site. I will also be promoting events I will be vending at and/or support. Please visit my etsy HERE
